The Travel Bug Strikes Again

Since October, when I took my trip to India, I haven't been to see anywhere else outside of England and my feet are becoming very itchy again.

So in true style, I booked the most impromptu flight of my life, the one that I have been promising myself I would make for over 7 years now.  My flight back to Australia.

After a brilliant bank holiday weekend with my boys in London and a rather drunken conversation in the pub, we decided it would be awesome if me and Jackie could make the trip to Australia that they were all making again this Christmas and New Year.

It seemed like an offer I couldn't refuse, and well I guess it was.  Because here I am now, with my flight booked for the 11th December, when I will be jumping on a plane at London Heathrow and making a 30 hour journey back to a place where I left my heart 7 years ago in a rather tearful farewell.

Me and Jackie will be back in Sydney for a whole month and we cannot wait.  We are still yet to book our flights and I am literally living on a shoe string this month, but its so worth it.

I only wished that I had booked the flight for earlier in the year and that perhaps it was a one way ticket, with a job offer and an amazing job to boot.  But at the moment I have a lot of saving to do and a lot of thinking to do before I make that leap.

Its not just the financial risk that I am worried about, I don't want to leave my friends and family for a whole year without knowing that they will come and visit me or be a stranger to my gorgeous little nephew that I love.  The thought of that makes me want to cry on the spot, but at the same time I have to live my own life and take the jump now before I am 60 years old telling my grandchildren how I nearly moved to Australia for the year.

Has anyone else had this dilemma before?
